One of the questions we hear most often from new OEM and custom design clients is simple: “How do I know the final piece will look right — before you make it in gold?”
It’s a fair concern. Committing to full production on a design you’ve only seen as a sketch or a digital rendering is a real risk, especially when gold and gemstones are involved. That’s why prototyping isn’t an optional step in our process — it’s the foundation of it.
Step 1: From Concept to Digital Design
Every project starts with your vision — whether that’s a detailed technical drawing, a mood board, or simply a description of what you’re imagining. Our design team translates this into a precise 3D digital model, where proportions, stone placements, and structural details can be refined before anything physical is made.
This stage is where most early revisions happen. Adjusting a bezel width or a band thickness in a 3D file takes minutes; adjusting it in cast metal does not.
Step 2: Bringing It Into the Physical World
Once a design is approved digitally, we produce a physical resin print — a 3D-printed prototype in the exact shape, scale, and detail of the final piece. This is the step that makes the biggest difference for our clients: a resin sample lets you hold the design, check proportions on the body, and confirm details that a screen simply can’t convey.
Step 3: Review and Refine — At No Extra Cost
This is where our process differs from many manufacturers: there is no additional charge for revisions during this stage, as long as the design has not yet been finalized, or until the revision process is complete. We’d rather invest the time upfront than have a client discover an issue after production has already begun.
Step 4: Production Begins
Only once you’ve reviewed and approved the resin sample does the piece move into full production in your selected gold karat and gemstone specification. By this point, there are no surprises — what you approved is what gets made.
